MISSION

L.O.T.S. partners with community leaders, coaches, clergy, educators, and local business to make an impact in the lives of our youth.

Sports Fundamentals
Starting with basketball, baseball and football, L.O.T.S. will teach kids the fundamentals of sports, with emphasis on teamwork, fitness, correct technique and injury prevention. It is our goal to provide a full-equipped and safe facility, with coaches to help each child reach their full potential, while instilling self-confidence, good health habits, and a respect for the rules and fair play.

Academic Assistance
With the assistance of local school boards as well as current and retired educators, L.O.T.S. will offer one-on-one tutoring and peer tutoring in a safe and educational environment, complete with textbooks and computers. Additionally, L.O.T.S. will offer its own curriculum of classes in values, culture, character, leadership skills, nutrition, and more. This curriculum will be designed to complement and support the school curriculum. In the future, the L.O.T.S. curriculum will expand to offer family outreach as well.

Counseling
Through peer counseling and group rap sessions, L.O.T.S. will reach at-risk teens with a message of support during the difficult teenage years. For participants facing more serious problems, L.O.T.S. will arrange for professional counseling for children and families.

Mentorship and Leadership Training
By partnering with local businesses and civic organizations, L.O.T.S. participants will have the opportunity to shadow professionals at their jobs, enroll in college preparation courses, and obtain career guidance. L.O.T.S. participants will also have access to job training, peer mentoring, leadership training, and career preparation. The goal of the program is to enable teens capable of successfully advancing to college or starting a career.
