AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS

With the generous support of the Staunton City Public Schools, LOTS launched its first after-school program in March of 2007 at Bessie Weller elementary School. In three short weeks, 28 students signed up for the program, exceeding enrollment goals and demonstrating the demand for this type of program.

With a staff of 4 adults and 7 teen volunteers, students learn the basics of basketball and softball, receive tutoring and study skills development, and learn about proper conditioning and nutrition. Thanks to our staff and volunteers, LOTS has already made an impact in the lives of these students.

The School Board wishes to continue LOTS through the summer and expand the program to encompass the entire 2007-2008 school year, but funding is critical for the continued success of the program. See our contact page to find out how you can become a part of the LOTS solution!
